I was born and raised in southeastern North Carolina. Older adults have always held a special place in my heart and mind. In college I received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Sate University. I then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. My focus in graduate school was health and aging studies.
I have experience working in long-term care and hospice. I have also lived in Germany for four years. Living in another country has given me a fresh perspective on health and aging issues… and yes, there are lessons we can learn from our European counterparts! Thanks for visiting.
About This Blog
My goal is to provide information on various topics related to aging and link you to reliable web sites. Many blog entries will be a review of information from the internet, but other sources will also be utilized. The most helpful tips will be given, along with personal insight. Out of respect for the original authors, a link to the initial source will be provided. My ultimate goal is to provide support to individuals who are in the process of getting older and to those doing the tough and under-appreciated job of being a caregiver.
